The MIRA RESOLUTION TO POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION AWARENESS
MIRA Postpartum depression and related mental health conditions disproportionally affect mothers from marginalized communities due to heightened stressors such as economic instability, limited social support, and systemic inequities in healthcare access. Compounded by the challenges of racial and ethnic disparities, many mothers face stigmatization and lack the resources to seek adequate care. This gap in support often perpetuates cycles of poverty and poor health outcomes for both mother and child. MIRA aims to bridge the gaps; we represent a critical intervention in addressing the complex challenges faced by mothers with PPD and BPD. Through its emphasis on holistic education and support, the program seeks to close health and education opportunity gaps, empowering mother to lead healthier, more stable lives while providing their children with a stronger foundation for the future.
We Provide:
LIFE SKILLS EDUCATION: Workshops on Parenting, financial literacy, time management and conflict resolution.
CRISIS MANAGEMENT SUPPORT: Referrals to Individualized counseling and peer support groups
FOOD ASSISTANCE: Nutritious food access ensures that both mother and child have basic food needs met.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR IMPACT focuses on underserved communities where poverty, gender, racial inequities exacerbate health and education.
